Dallas Auditions - So You Think You Can Dance Season 9

This state prides itself from being bigger, louder and better than anywhere else. Sounds like a perfect place to continue Season 9's talent search.

These are the Dallas Auditions!

Joining Nigel Lythgoe (executive producer) and Mary Murphy (Ballroom Expert) for the Texas trials is Crumping Choreographer LiL'C.

And first to represent is a local girl Bree Hafen:

Two seriously twisted individuals shocked the mood of the judges as they performed with each of their unique styles.
Here's Stepheon "The Zombie" Stewart from Katy, Texas who earned a ticket straight to Vegas with his extraordinary audition:

Hampton "The Exorcist" Williams from Richardson, Texas stole the limelight and the judges' souls?

And as the day went on Dallas continued to deliver. 5 dancers have earned tickets straight to Vegas, and after the choreography round 5 more will be joining them.

A new batch of excited dancers are getting ready to show their moves on the 2nd day of Dallas Auditions.

Daniel Baker originally from Australia wanted to move to the US and the only way to do that is to become a ballet dancer. He transformed himself into a ballet dancer and is now living in San Francisco California.

Hoping to impress the judges with his Lyrical freestyle is 21 year old Sam Shreffler from Lubbock, Texas. He made everybody dance with the move he created "The Ocean". He wasn't given the chance to go to the next round but he made the judges proud.

Von Kipper from Houston, Texas was tagged as someone who has a BAD ATTITUDE... what does he want?

Ready to Rock Jarell Rochelle from Huntsville, Texas decided to audition for his mom to see him on stage before she gets blind.

That was it for the Dallas Solo rounds.
And after the evening's choreography round, 7 more dancers are gonna be on the plane to Sin City.

So You Think You Can Dance is Back on the road

All year long, your television has been dominated by singers! Isn't it about time for for a little Dance?

After 8 seasons, we thought we've seen it all! Apparently not!

It's Season 9 and it starts to the beat of "NEW York".

From the bright lights of Broadway, to the geeky Brooklyn street, this city has a soundtrack of it's own.
Hundreds of excited dancers pack in to the theater, ready for the arrival of the judges:
- Nigel Lythgoe (Executive Producer)
- Mary Murphy (Ballroom Expert)
- Tyce Diorio (Emmy Award Winning Broadway Choreographer)

Here's how it's gonna work:
*Every dancer will perform solo for the judges
-if they fail to impress, they'll be sent straight home
-if the judges are undecided, they'll be asked to stay until the end of the day and take part in the Choreography Round.
-if their solo is truly exceptional, they'll get plane tickets for the next stage of auditions in Vegas.

Contemporary dancer Amelia Lowe was hoping to keep up the season on a high! She started dancing since she was three and her biggest inspiration is the over-dramaticness and how theatrical the 1920's era is.
Here's the the audition piece of the adorable 18 year old girl from Butler, New Jersey:

Toshihiko Nakazawa from Niigata, Japan got the judges attention and was asked to stay for the choreography round:

This dancer's audition piece has a story which tells about his friend who died in 9/11. Here's Shafeek Westbrook from North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania:

Leo Reyes from Brooklyn, New York dedicates his dance to his mom:

A ballet dancer from Zurich, Switzerland hopes that the judges would see that his will to dance is strong. Here's Chehon Wespi-Tschopp's audition:

After the New York solos, the choreography round was judged and 11 more dancers got their tickets for the next round of auditions in Vegas. In total, 38 dancers will be moving on to the Sin City.
